I am looking for a casual caretaker to stand in when our full time caretaker takes time off.
Job resposibilities:
- You will need to bring stuff for your own entertainment. There is no DSTV.
- Take care a person that has had a severe stroke which left her unable to walk or speak, who suffers from bad bed sores and needs a lot of hands-on care.
Job requirements:
- Able to work 2 days a week.
- Able to work at a private home and be alone with the patient most of the time.
- Candidate must be strong and fit, able to pick the patient up to move from bed to chair etc. without hurting yourself (patient weighs about 60kg).
- Experience in wound care.
- Able to get to and from the house on your own cost.
- Able to stay overnight. This is a 24h job.
- You have to be willing to put in 2 or 3 days of training before you officially get hired. Remember the patient can not speak, which makes learning what she needs very difficult.
