Full Time Veterinarian-Work in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Pet Care House Veterinary Clinic, located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania is seeking a Full-­‐Time Veterinarian to join our friendly and motivated team. The successful applicant will be settling into a friendly and vibrant mixed Tanzanian and expatriate environment, well supported by a clinic manager, a Tanzanian Veterinarian, two receptionists and vet nurses.

Special interests and continuing education is encouraged and supported. What We Are Looking For: We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced veterinarian who wants to make a difference. Our ideal candidate is a veterinarian with proven medical and surgical skills; an interest in community animal welfare is necessary. The successful applicant will be expected to work 5 days a week with a rotating emergency on-­‐call schedule. The applicant should be open to travelling within our beautiful country of Tanzania.

Our Clinic: Our practice is home to a purpose built clinic that is equipped with soon to come computerized radiology, in-­‐house biochemistry, specialized small animal medicine and handpicked small animal products from around the world. We are located on the east coast of Tanzania, a 2 minute drive from the Indian Ocean and an hour ferry to Zanzibar.

Animal Welfare: Pet Care House Veterinary Clinic is also partners with 'Every Living Thing’  Animal Sanctuary which is home to over 100 rescued dogs and cats. We see all the shelter patients which is a large part of the job We believe in our work and are driven by our  passion to make a difference.  Our clinic plays a large role in the welfare of the animals in the  community and thus the successful candidate will be involved in veterinary outreach programs, capacity building through the training of Tanzanian Veterinary School graduates and hosting vet students and volunteers from abroad. We experience a wide and varied caseload, which will contribute to the candidate’s development.
