SM Healthcare Placements is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Programme Manager in Durban, Kwazulu Natal for an exciting role within an International NGO in the health care field.

The incumbents will be seconded to district/municipality to oversee, coordinate and manage allocated aspects of HIV/TB programme in eThekwini district.

The following are the qualifications, experience, knowledge and attributes requirements:

 

Education, Training and Experience

  • Post graduate degree / diploma in HIV Management or other specialist qualification in HIV related

health services

  • Experience in working and dealing with Provincial and District health authorities
  • Demonstrated training skills
  • Data Management experience
  • Good problem solving ability
  • Ability to handle a varied, busy and pressurized work load with competing demands on time
  • Ability to work in a multi- disciplinary team with diverse backgrounds
  • Innovative and show initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff at all levels
  • Computer skills (MS Office package)
  • Drivers license and own transport; willingness to undertake regular overnight travel.
  • 6 years’ experience within the Public Sector
  • Experience with DHIS, DIP, TIER.net and eTR

Key performance areas

  • Responsible for building and strengthening capacity of district, sub-district and PHC facility teams to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of HIV & related services.
  • Build capacity of District Health Management team.
  • Co-ordinate programme activities and oversee MatCH support to programme implementation within the district.
  • Support the district with the development of best practices and enhancement of HS (PHC) programme activities, operational solution, systems design and site specific training.
  • Co-ordinate and implement programme monitoring, evaluation and reporting within the district
  • Assist the district in preparing for provincial audits and other quality improvement activities.
  • Liaise with Provincial and local health authorities.
  • Supervise, support and mentor project management staff to ensure optimal performance and maintenance of sound labour relations.
