Hotel Night Auditor, Cape Winelands

Our prestigious Hospitality client situated in the Cape Winelands requires a Night Auditor to join their dynamic team.

The successful candidate will assist the Night Manager with operations throughout the night shift; this includes closing of daily accounts through Opera and Micros, supervising the cleanliness of public areas and supervising the night receptionist.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managing and running the hotel front office operations process before and after office hours
  • Managing and running the hotel night audit process
  • Ensuring the accurate checking and auditing of house accounts
  • Ensuring that pit checks are performed, and guests accounts are ready for the next days departure
  • Daily tasks as required, for example balancing daily outlet revenue dockets with revenue reports; checking cash balances from Opera and Micros systems
  • Perform reception, room service, housekeeping and bar duties as and when required
  • Engage guests and colleagues with prompt service delivery with professional attention given to queries and/ or complaints
  • Exceed customer expectations by providing the best possible service at all times
  • Maintain effective and positive working relationships with team members in other operational areas
  • Report complaints and/ or any incidents to management promptly, helping to find solutions where possible
  • Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress code in the team
  • Be familiar with and adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Ad hoc requests as required

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Matric
  • A relevant Tertiary Qualification (Advantageous)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role and environment
  • A fluent English speaker (additional languages desirable)
  • Willing and able to work night shift hours between 22h00 and 07h00 daily
  • Hotel F&B experience (Advantageous)
  • Proficient in MS Office, Opera/ Fidelio and email; Micros or other point-of-sale systems
  • A vibrant and cheerful candidate with excellent organizing and coordinating abilities
  • Outstanding guest service, accounting and operational skills with the ability to perform well under pressure
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good supervisory skills, with the ability to give clear and concise instructions
  • Keen attention to detail with excellent follow-through capabilities
  • Able to remain calm and maintain professional outlook, even when under pressure
  • A committed team member, willing to cooperate with others
  • Flexible and willing to ‘go the extra mile’
