The Key Purpose of this role is to be responsible for the end-to-end planning, budgeting, reporting, and performance analysis of international logistics operations within the Africa Zone. This includes calculating and managing transfer pricing for all import/export flows, profitability (MACO) of SKUs, and leading the annual budget, latest estimate (LE), and month-end reporting cycles. The role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, transparent, and performance-driven logistics operations across regions, including RSA, Rest of Africa (ROA).
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, document, and optimize end-to-end international logistics processes (import/export, intercompany transfers, customs, etc.)
- Align International Logistics processes with global and regional supply chain strategies
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across the International Logistics stream
- Develop SOPs and ensure their implementation across all markets
- Identify key controls to be implemented / adhered to across the VLC PPM stream
- Ensure adherence to international trade compliance (Incoterms, export controls, customs regulations)
- Agile ways of working which requires; ownership of work on the sprint backlog; pushing the boundaries for excellent delivery; focusing on root cause problem solving; using diverse and collective skills to support other members of the team
- Develop and communicate the annual budget plan calendar across the Africa Zone.
- Lead the transfer pricing annual budgeting process for international flows.
- Track milestones, ensure initiative embedding, and align with finance and supply chain teams.
- Ensure final budgets are uploaded into appropriate systems and tools, ensuring visibility and accessibility.
- Conduct budget post-mortem reviews, identify improvement areas and support root-cause correction
- Map and drive process improvements in international logistics planning and execution.
- Ensure all Champions initiatives are properly embedded in the budget
- Lead voyage settlement and closure processes in preparation for month-end
- Prepare and post balance sheet price variance journal
- Posting of accurate journal entries on the reporting tools under correct GL accounts
- Highlight risks and opportunities throughout the month and recommend corrective actions
- Report month-end actuals in alignment with global and zone control requirements
- Prepare detailed month-end decks for review with leadership
- Conduct deep dives on variance drivers, identify root causes, and develop gap-closing action plans
- Adherence to all deadlines, milestones and submission requirements to the NoCC VLC key stakeholders
- Record and update Latest Estimates (LE) for international logistics accurately and timeously
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve results and LE performance
- Highlight risks, root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Drive the Champions process for all international logistics cost-saving initiatives in line with Zone guidelines
- Ensure all initiatives are regularly updated, tracked, and reviewed.
- Proactively highlight risks related to Champions and escalate where necessary.
- Respond to audit requests related to international logistics space
- Transfer pricing and MACO calculations for new business cases or expansion projects.
- Any other International Logistics related items /projects

- Minimum of 3 years experience in FMCG environment
- Bachelors Degree, CIMA / CA (SA) or progress towards (preferred)
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, with particularly strong Excel skills
- Good knowledge of consolidation & reporting tools (Cognos, TM1, BI)
- Knowledge of ERP Systems SAP, Syspro
- Basic business sense and results focused
