Minimum Requirements

Accounting Degree

3-5 Years Related Experience

Knowledge of VAT and tax requirements commensurate to the position

Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

Strong Interpersonal And Communication Skills.

Assertive

Experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications

Experience in computerized GL environment experience with Sage / Pastel accounting software would be useful

Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Self-starter

Ability to maintain emotional integrity with different types of employees in the organisation.

Duties And Responsibilities

Accounting

Direct and coordinate the daily activities of the accounting staff.

Ensure that the revenues, expenditures, assets and liabilities of the Companies are recorded without delay.

Review General Ledger regularly to review accuracy of posting.

Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

Advise accounting staff regarding handling of non-routine transactions

Coordinate month end and year end closing activities

Ensure reconciliations of accounts are completed at least monthly

Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

Provide Financial Institutions with financial reports when requested.

Submit all necessary statutory returns timeously, including VAT and PAYE.

Assist with the preparation of the annual budget.

Work with the auditors to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.

Perform other finance related duties as may be assigned by management.

Analyses and Reporting

Learning and understanding Sage300 and all reporting tools and report writers associated with the same.

Loading of price lists to ensure correctness. Setting up regular price update procedures in the system and doing verification checks afterwards to ensure our pricing for all companies are correct

Designing relevant reports to support product managers in analyzing their product lines

Design reports which will assist the sales teams to understand their activities and what is necessary for them to drive to achieve their targets

Recreating management accounts for each business unit and different companies in group for management decision making and presentation to banks as required by our covenants

Responsible to act as superuser of the group systems
