The Statutory Accountant is responsible for the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements of the African entities, as well as additional accounting and reporting activities.
Duties
- Prepares annual financial statements on Caseware for various entities
- Responsible for the general ledger (incl. monthly reconciliation) of one or more entities
- where required
- Manages the Fixed Asset registers of certain entities
- Key point of contact for the preparation of statutory accounts
- Liaises with Tax, Finance and Treasury
- Continuously looks for improvements in the management of the general ledger. Initiate and drives improvement projects
- Participate in special accounting projects as required
- Other financial control and management functions required to maintain fiscal control and
- compliance in the Africa region
- Advises management of correct procedures according to legislation when required
- Reports to Financial Controller Africa
- Works closely with Africa Tax team
- Qualified Accountant (SAICA/SAIPA)
- 2+ years of relevant working experience
- Experience in Caseware
- Good knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (if applicable)
- Computer literate
- Excellent English language skills
