This is a full time, on-site position for a group consisting of around 20 entities.
Accountant | Parow Industria | Full Time | 30k - 35k The Accountant will be responsible for:
- Assist the CFO regarding all short term insurance claims & policies
- Prepare Trial balance up to audit level
- Reconciliation of all bank transactions
- Maintain & reconcile the fixed asset register
- Sales data imports and reconciliations
- Manage & process stock takes & report on variances
- Handle audit queries
- Maintain financial security by following & implementing internal controls
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends
- Complete and submit VAT & PAYE returns
- Monthly reporting preparation
- Ad hoc duties and responsibilities assigned by Senior Management
- Review accounts payable for all companies
- Review accounts receivable for all companies
- Review & prepare lease agreements
- Handle overseas payments for imports, as well as knowledge of clearing and forwarding of imported goods
- Negotiate payment terms with suppliers (local & overseas)
- Tax planning & submissions
- 5 years experience as an Accountant (non-negotiable)
- Proficiency in bookkeeping, accounting principles, and financial analysis
- Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements
- Knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations
- Experience with Pastel Partner or similar software
- Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bcom Accounting or similar (non-negotiable)
- SAICA / SAIPA articles (advantageous)
- IFRS knowledge (advantageous)
