Job description
Location: Brackenfell (Cape Gate Area) & Paarl
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Financial Clerk to support the finance department with day-to-day accounting and administrative functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reconciliations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Capture and process financial transactions accurately and timeously
Issue invoices, statements, and credit notes
Allocate and record customer payments
Perform debtor and creditor reconciliations
Follow up on outstanding accounts and handle account-related queries
Process supplier invoices and prepare payment schedules
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
Capture bank transactions and perform bank reconciliations
Assist with monthly financial reports and schedules
Prepare documentation for auditors and accountants
Assist with VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements where applicable
Maintain proper filing and record-keeping systems
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls
Provide general financial and administrative support to management
Minimum Requirements
Matric (Grade 12); relevant financial qualification will be advantageous
13 years experience in a similar financial or accounting role
Basic accounting knowledge
Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Pastel, Xero)
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
