Job Overview
As a COID Advisor, you will play a critical role in guiding clients through the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) process. You will ensure compliance with South African legislation while managing the administration of claims, returns, and reports efficiently and accurately. This role requires someone with patience, a strong sense of urgency, and excellent attention to detail.
Minimum requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in administration.
- Minimum 2 years experience with COID Act application and Compensation Fund and RMA documentation
- Online systems for submissions and tracking
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office suite essential).
- Strong administrative and communication skills.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English (both written and verbal).
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- High attention to detail and factual accuracy.
- Confident, client-service driven, and professional demeanor.
- Self-motivated, ethical, and accountable.
- Provide advice on South African health and safety legislation, including the COID Act.
- Knowledge of COID Act and compliance regulations.
- Skills in preparing and submitting COID claims, maintaining records, and handling client correspondence.
- Explain compliance requirements and the implications of non-compliance.
- Administer and review claims for Injury/Disease on Duty (IOD/DOD).
- Submit IOD/DOD reports to the Department of Employment and Labour (DoEL) and Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA).
- Ensure timely submission of reports.
- Recordkeeping and reporting management.
- Submit Return of Earnings (RoE) annually to DoEL & RMA.
- Monitor and follow up on the progress of all COID-related submissions.
- Communicate regularly with clients about claim statuses and outstanding requirements.
- Compile and submit monthly client reports.
- Manage accurate records of all claims and related correspondence.
- Assist clients with queries relating to workplace incidents and occupational diseases.
