Our client, a well-known & well-established South African listed company, has an exciting opportunity for an Analyst of Business Applications to join their team in Durban & to be responsible for business processes mapping to ensure efficient, effective, integrated, and automated applications. You will also be responsible for evaluating business needs, documenting systems requirements, and translating data between business users and technical developers, & be a key interface between business units, technology teams, and support teams, and develop reports and dashboards.
This is an EE position, therefore preference will be given to African applicants
Requirements:
- Degree in Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or related IT equivalent
- BSc degree in Industrial Engineering (preferable)
- 5 years experience in an analyst role
- Proven experience in analysing business systems requirements and articulating this requirement to a development house both verbally and via professional detailed requirements specifications.
- Advantageous to have knowledge of Process Optimization tools BPMN, UML
- Experience in a Logistics and/or Shipping environment will be an advantage.
- Business process mapping.
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits,
- business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, decompose high-level information into detail
- and produce Functional Requirements Specifications and Blueprint documents.
- Participate in the development of project plans.
- Prepare test cases and ensure testing is properly documented.
- Provide training and go-live support.
- Identify unproductive areas in the operation and take the necessary action to correct.
- Identify application related issues and take the necessary action to correct.
- Provide first line support for users.
- Prepare training material and train users
- Perform gap analysis between operational processes and application functionality to identify automation and optimisation opportunities.
- Ensure there is adequate segregation of duties in compliance with internal/external audit requirements
- Manage user profiles and access levels
- Make changes to master data in accordance with the approved framework
