De Beers Technology has operations in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa and is part of the De Beers Group. We deliver technical services and technology systems to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the De Beers Diamond value chain from exploration to diamond recovery. Activities include marine geophysical survey, sampling, mining, projects, engineering, technology development and maintenance. We provide specialized diamond processing and recovery technology for the De Beers Group Exploration and Mining Operations. We are the industry leader in marine mining practices resulting in the most successful and advanced marine mining equipment and operations globally.
Job Description
This role reports into the Product and Services Department
- Successful sourcing, manufacturing and delivery of completed products (tracers + DMCs) and all other relevant products.
- Document and improve current assembly processes
- To adhere to all established safe work procedures
- Source materials required to complete all assembly activities based on internal customer demands and ensure that all work conducted is to be delivered on-time, to expected quality and wastage in the manufacturing process is avoided.
- Responsible for soldering of components at electronic level
- Able to connect various electrical components based on an assembly drawings
- Ability to provide basic assembly schedules and assembly progress reports using basic Microsoft suite of packages, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Formal qualifications:
- Minimum of N3 qualification with trade certificate
- Understanding and interpretation of electrical drawings including basic understanding and interpretation of mechanical drawings
- An applied understanding of the application of tools, instruments and equipment used in manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of applicable trade related industry standards.
- 3+ years of experience
