We currently having an opportunity of a Learning & Development Facilitator in our Kensington Support Office in Johannesburg. The incumbent's main duties will entail but not limited to being responsible for designing, delivering and evaluation training programs across Pick n Pay. To enhance skills, knowledge, and performance of employees (inclusive of management skills, soft skills and technical skills) Key to success is working closely with Business Advisors and Line managers to identify training needs and create effective learning experiences.
  • 3-5 years work experience as a Skills Development Facilitator or in an HR Environment
  • Relevant degree or diploma (e.g., B Comm / HR Business / Psychology); post-graduate degree advantageous
  • Facilitator/ moderator/ instructional design certifications beneficial
Summary of key responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Training Needs Assessment: Consult with People Business Advisors and Line Managers to identify priority needs.
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, and assessments to determine specific learning requirements.
  • Curriculum Development: Assist with the development of training materials, including manuals, presentations, e-learning modules, and other resources, where required.
  • Ensure training content is aligned with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
  • Facilitation and Delivery: Facilitate learnership program which includes liaising with regional/Line managers and People Business Advisors to identify suitable staff participants, arrange & facilitate information sessions, answer staff queries and ensure all administration is completed for trainee sign ups.
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars in a classroom or virtual environment.
  • Utilise various instructional techniques to engage participants and promote active learning.
  • Adapt training methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Assess the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Make necessary adjustments to improve training content and delivery methods.
  • Technology Integration: Utilise learning management systems (LMS) and other technology tools to administer, track, and report on training programs.
  • Stay updated on e-learning trends and incorporate digital learning strategies when appropriate.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that training programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of training attendance, completion, and certification.
  • Compile, submit and oversee the WSP, ATR and Pivotal training in line with the Organizations, SETAs and Legislation requirements.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts and trainers to ensure the quality of training content.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to integrate training into the onboarding process and career development plans.
