A family based in Vredehoek, Cape Town CBD, requires the services of an experienced, passionate and caring individual to take care of their 2 toddlers aged 5 and 3, both attends school daily until 12:30, assist in the smooth running of their household and provide love and care to a newborn arriving soon.
Job requirements:
- Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 - 17:30
- This is a live out position.
- Start: August 2018
- The ideal candidate must have a real passion for children and education and have loads of energy.
- She must have the ability to take initiative and handle a crisis calmly and responsibly. She must be patient, loving, caring, honest and reliable.
- She must have experience in working with newborns and able to run a household.
- Min. 3 years child care experience with a new born and toddlers
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English (read and write)
- Grade 12
- Qualification in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or similar Child Care/ Educare
- Non-smoker/ Sober habits
- Excellent health
- Access to reliable public transport
- Punctual
- Able to cook simple, healthy family meals and read recipes
- Knowledge of basic first aid (further training will be provided)
- South African citizen
Job responsibilities:
- Arrive on time
- Seeing to all the children’s needs
- Ensure that daily schedules and routines are followed ito nap times and feeds
- Engage in age appropriate educational play and structured activities including reading, music activities, messy play, outdoor games
- Accompany children on outings to the park, palydates, library etc.
- Prepare and cook healthy meals for the family
- Bath children and feed meals
- Responsible for children’s laundry, rooms and play area, ensuring it is neat, tidy and clean.
- This position includes cleaning and other housework whilst the children attend school in the morning.
- Accompany toddler to extra mural activities from time to time
- Occasional after hours babysitting
- Assist the family with any other reasonal task from time to time
