Intercape is looking for an air-conditioning technician to join their team of specialists at the Pretoria West Depot.
Job requirements:
- South African Citizen (residing in Pretoria or nearby).
- Grade 12/Matric.
- Completed Trade Test Air-conditioning Technician/Auto Electrician preferred
- Minimum 2 years' experience in working with air-conditioning on commercial vehicles (automotive air-conditioning).
- Automotive electrical background.
- Able to read and understand a multimeter.
- Able to use discretion for when to use a test light instead of a multimeter.
- Previous experience with a Robin Air recovery machine will be advantageous.
- Competent in brazing/welding pipes together.
- Competent with silver solder.
- Code 8/Code B drivers' license.
- Own transport.
- Willing to work shifts.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensure air-conditioning filters of coaches are cleaned and changed as necessary.
- Testing of air-conditioning systems.
- Read and understand air-conditioning gauges.
- Work with with R22 and 134A gas (previous work experience advantageous).
- Working with 24V on coaches.
- Doing general repairs.
- Identifying parts needed to order for repairs in order to be done timeously.
- Assisting Aircon Supervisor as necessary to ensure quality of product.
