Duties & Responsibilities

Coffee Preparation & Service
  • Craft a variety of coffees tailored to customer preferences and prepared according to company recipes.
  • Ensure consistency in taste and presentation of all coffee beverages.
  • Experiment with new coffee recipes and seasonal offerings to enhance the menu.
Customer Experience
  • Greet customers warmly and create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
  • Take accurate orders and provide information about the menu, including ingredients and potential allergens.
  • Offer personalized recommendations based on customer preferences and feedback.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to orders or payments.
Point of Sale & Cash Handling
  • Process payments efficiently, including cash, credit card, and mobile transactions.
  • Maintain accurate cash register balances and report discrepancies to management.
Cleanliness & Hygiene
  • Regularly clean and sanitize the work area, including counters, machines, and seating areas.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Dispose of waste properly and manage recycling efforts.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
Inventory & Stock Management
  • Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies as needed.
  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh and stored correctly.
  • Place orders for new stock and manage deliveries.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on brewing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and report any equipment issues to management.
  • Keep equipment clean and in good working order.
Mobile Coffee Bar Operations
  • Set up, operate, and manage the mobile coffee bar at Tsebo beverage events.
  • Drive the mobile bar vehicle to events as and when required (valid drivers license essential).
  • Transport equipment and supplies to various event locations.
  • Ensure smooth service delivery during events, maintaining high standards of quality and customer engagement.
  • Coordinate with event staff and clients to meet specific service needs.
Training & Compliance
  • Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to maintain high standards of service and compliance.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong coffee-making skills and knowledge of brewing techniques
  • Excellent customer service and communication
  • Attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Ability to work independently and manage time well
  • Comfortable using POS systems and handling payments
  • Valid drivers license and ability to drive the mobile coffee bar vehicle
  • Flexible and willing to travel for events
  • Team player with a positive attitude
Qualifications
  • Matric
  • 35 years of experience as a barista
  • Valid drivers license (essential for mobile coffee bar operations)
