Role Overview
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solar Electrician to join their reputable renewable energy company based in Cape Town. As a Senior Solar Electrician, you will play a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
Job type: Onsite | Fulltime
Location: Cape Town
Salary: R 30 000 - 35 000 (gross monthly)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Solar Electrician
- Experience in installation of Solar PV systems
- Valid Electrical Wireman's Licence
- Certification in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, such as the PV GreenCard or similar recognized training programs.
- Must be able to sign off City of Cape Town Compliance Certificates onsite
- Knowledge of Relevant Regulation, including compliance with the South African National Standards (SANS)
- Must be able to sign off both single phase and double phase systems.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems and components relevant to solar PV installations
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical diagrams and technical specifications
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and industry regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver's licence
- Install, inspect, and maintain solar PV systems in compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Conduct system commissioning and testing to ensure optimal performance
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in solar PV systems, including inverters, batteries, wiring, and components
- Lead the installation teams to plan and execute solar PV installations
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and longevity
- Keep accurate records of work performed and report any system abnormalities or safety concerns
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Represent the company brand in an appropriate manner
