Brewery taproom manager wanted

The Stellies Taproom at Stellenbosch Brewing Co is hiring a taproom manager to oversee daily taproom operations and provide a consistently exceptional customer experience to our guests.

Job responsibilities:

  • Management of daily operations related but not limited to: staffing, training, operations, cash handling and reporting 
  • Management of POS system (currently Micros) 
  • Ensuring every customer is provided with the best possible experience in the taproom in regards to customer service, food & beverage quality and ambiance 
  • Daily inventory tracking and analysis
  • Bookings and special event coordination and execution
  • Conducting brewery tours and tastings 
  • Pro-active management of Taproom improvements and staying informed on current industry trends and opportunities

Job requirements:

  • The Taproom Manager position is a full-time, hands-on position responsible for the training and management of 12+ staff members and day-to-day operations.
  • The ideal candidate will have previous hospitality management experience, the ability to interact professionally with staff and guests, previous brewery or craft beer experience and excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Have proven hospitality management experience 
  • Have an avid interest in craft beer & food 
  • Seek out customer interaction and communicate with confidence 
  • Be fluent in English & Afrikaans
  • Pay strict attention to detail and be able to multi-task effectively 
  • Have computer literacy and be able to use Outlook, Excel, etc
  • The perfect candidate will channel the passion we put into our beer and food into a memorable taproom experience for our guests.
  • Our manager must be customer-focused, experienced in managing a restaurant/bar/taproom environment, and have exceptional interpersonal, management, and organizational skills.
  • We’re seeking candidates who are excited about the opportunity to be involved in the ground level of a growing business and who are excited about: recruiting, training, managing and motivating taproom staff; planning and leading special taproom events; and serving as an ambassador for the Stellenbosch Brewing Co Brand.
  • And, of course, someone who knows and loves craft beer and food as much as we do!
