Business Development Consultant

The Business Development Consultantwill be responsible to drive the development and growth of the business by implementing new and effective strategies. Seek new opportunities, and marketing ideas and help to satisfy customers needs. Seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers, and end users. Identifying, formulating, and delivering excellent solutions to prospective clients. Boost sales and contribute to our long-term business growth. Developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas and cultivating strong relationships with end users and prospective accounts. Hand over any leads/ prospects/ opportunities won to the account management team for ongoing management and service.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying new business opportunities in Africa for a designated product portfolio. E.g., Micro, Home, Business, Commercial and Industrial
  • Facilitating the planning and designing of energy storage solutions with project manager and engineering team for end user projects.
  • Forwarding quote and order requests to the internal sales team.
  • Working with the project manager to manage ongoing projects until completion.
  • Qualify leads by contacting prospective and current clients.
  • Pursuing leads passed on from internal sales and account management teams.
  • Staying up to date with new services/products and plans
  • Assigning the appropriate services/products to clients
  • Presenting information to clients
  • Developing strategies relating to customer satisfaction and growth within the financial division of the company
  • Conducting research to fulfil customers needs and to also identify new markets.
  • Arranging meetings with leads and prospects
  • Assisting with the promotion of the companys products/services
  • Excellent handover of leads/ prospects won providing all necessary information to the account management team to ensure the smooth transition of a customer/ end user.
  • Reporting on product portfolio sales performance and pipeline on a monthly basis.
  • Negotiating offtake agreements/ MOUs with customers for signing between the management of Freedom Won and the target company.
Essential Requirements
  • Grade 12/Matric
  • +- 3 years work experience within the renewable energies/energy storage industry
  • Understanding the Customer/ End User/ target segments
  • Relevant experience as a Business Development Consultant
  • Experience within the sales and marketing fields
  • Exceptional customer service attitude
  • Drivers licence and own car
  • Proven sales track record
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent at building rapport with customers
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • BA/BSc/BCom in Business, Marketing or a related field
  • Self-Motivated.
  • Results driven.
  • No criminal record.
