The Portfolio

Manage, support, develop and report on Risk and Compliance products for the group, with a large focus on regulatory requirements. This includes monitoring of anti-money laundering behaviour, risk and fraud activity, customer verification, enhanced due diligence, responsible gaming and any processes related to audit, compliance, and regulation

Purpose Of The Role

Reporting to the Product Delivery Manager, the successful candidate will, as a member of the Enterprise Support Data Team, be required to effectively lead and execute the data development portfolio and related activities. Responsibilities include the implementation of appropriate business intelligence platforms to support the organisation and its products.

This is a key role for the business that requires an entrepreneurial individual who can direct as well as do the work, and who will gain much satisfaction from solving a wide variety of challenging problems while playing a pivotal role within a small and focused team.

Duties Include, But Not Limited To

Operating Duties
  • Integration of new sources of data into company databases so that it can also be analyzed and included in relevant reporting and processes.
  • Integration of data into relevant workflow processes, with the specific aim of continuously improving what the company does and how it does it.
  • Conceptualizing, defining and delivering new reports and dashboard, as well as improving existing ones.
  • Analysis of data from various sources in order to ensure that the business acts proactively on the information at its disposal.
  • Continually searching for new and useful ways to obtain, integrate and analyze data that is relevant to the companys business model.
  • Education of report end-users so as to ensure a maximum spread of expertise around the company.
  • Assist in gathering requirements and project specifications.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings with clients and ensuring all projects are project managed, tracked, and delivered upon to customer expectations and within required timelines.
  • Maintain/improve current industry knowledge of business intelligence and data concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Researching and understanding fluent usage across a broad spectrum of technologies.
  • Constant research of new ways to make our lives easier and be more effective in business.
  • Management of a team including recruitment, onboarding, career growth paths, performance appraisals, allocation of duties and other related management functions.
  • Address team needs efficiently and effectively and expedite communication strategies to ensure impediments are resolved quickly.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Engineering, Tech Lead, and other external teams to ensure all aspects of development requirements are covered.
  • Allocation of developers in accordance with the backlog prioritization.
  • Familiarize the team with the customer needs, specifications, design targets, the development process, design standards, techniques, and tools to support task performance.
  • Grow team competency on a business and technical level, individually and as a collective.
  • Roll out new processes and tools that will improve work processes within team.
  • Support team building and team development by utilizing the abilities and skills of individuals and fostering a feedback culture.
  • Maintain healthy group dynamics and creating a positive, delivery focused team culture.
Support to Product Delivery Manager
  • Assisting the Product Delivery Manager to ensure the knowledge sharing and flow of information is actively happening throughout the team.
  • Understand the vision with the Product Delivery Manager and continually drive the vision within the team by creating goals and ensuring that they are met.
  • Remove impediments where possible and to raise the ones you cant to the Product Delivery Manager and ensure they are dealt with.
  • Report on all aspects of team dynamics; growth, project progress, recruitment needs, and other team needs.
  • Ensure that relationships with other teams are smooth and that in all aspects processes and expectations are well defined.
Support to Engineering and Technical Leads
  • Ensuring that the Architectural vision is implemented when building or maintaining systems and including such items within the product scope.
  • Assist in driving system and development methodologies as recommended by the Engineering and Tech Lead & Architecture Team.
  • Ensure that deployed solutions operate according to architectural specifications and standards.
  • Facilitate time allocation for developer up-skilling via Engineering and Tech Lead, Architecture or consulted teams.
Support to Product Owner
  • Assist in the adoption and nurturing of Scrum methodology in the team, creating an iterative and Agile culture.
  • Ensure that the team are working accordingly to the backlog priority.
  • Assisting to ensure all projects are tracked and delivered upon customer expectations and within required timelines.
  • Assist the product owner in ensuring all individuals are properly briefed on project requirements.
  • Keep the product owner informed of task accomplishment, issues, and status.

Essential Criteria
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a data related field (data engineering, data analytics, BI, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a technology environment
  • At least 5 years professional experience as part of a Technology team.
  • Minimum 2 years leadership experience.
  • Demonstrates consistent behaviour aligned to the Organizational Culture
Desirable Criteria
  • Computer Science related degree, diploma or similar qualification.
