Process Owner

Plans, performs and implements process improvement initiatives (such as Lean or Six Sigma). Diagrams and evaluates existing processes. Organizes, leads and facilitates cross-functional project teams. Develops metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities. Collects data to identify root cause of problems. Measures performance against process requirements. Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls. Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality. May deliver presentations and training courses including measurement, analysis, improvement and control. Surveys and analyzes best practices for techniques and processes. Communicates team progress. Performs cost and benefit analyses.

Working at NTT

The primary responsibility of the Business Process Analyst is to devise and design business process requirements, including researching, identifying and analysing the efficiency of existing business and/or operational processes and making recommendations for change to ensure an improvement in client service, reduction in costs or an increase in efficiencies.

By doing this, the Business Process Analyst defines, develops, documents, tests and optimises the processes that support the business.

Key roles and responsibilities:
  • Advise relevant stakeholders in the business on improvement options of existing business processes
  • Apply business process redesign methodology to develop effective solutions to business problems
  • Assist with the proactive identification of business and/or operational process improvements through data analysis to ensure constructive suggestions for change
  • Use the information gathered from minor and less complex incidents raised by the operation to ensure the identification of process improvements
  • Identify potential cross-functional synergies and improvements that will ensure optimal performance within the assigned area of responsibility
  • Assess business systems through business risk assessment and assist in the identification of risk mitigating strategies
  • Utilise complex analysis techniques such as transaction testing, benchmarking of best practice and external research, to assess process strengths and weaknesses.
  • Conduct impact assessments of process gaps by analysing grey areas not clearly defined by established standards and ensuring that these are mapped during the design process
  • Facilitate the design / re-design of business processes including clarifying, identifying issues and facilitating changes to attain the highest levels of client service, efficiency, control and compliance
  • Standardise, maintain, and document new or improved processes based on findings and analysis
  • Engage with a variety of stakeholders and facilitates workshops to generate, review and update the new improved processes
  • Recommend and implement continuous operational improvements with clear measurable benefits
  • Present the relevant business cases which articulate return on investment to the relevant stakeholders
  • Assist with the definition of risk mitigation action plans to resolve existing gaps in processes
  • Ensure the preparation of detailed process diagrams and the accompanying documentation in terms of process design
  • Assist with the implementation of operational changes to support marketing campaigns, new regulatory requirements and business projects
  • Liaise and engage with clients to drive change in the business and contribute to the new client or services take-on process, ensuring that all processes are documented accurately
  • Ensure that all new processes are tested prior to implementation and liaise with the required internal teams to ensure the change control and management process
  • Assist with the implementation and delivery of internal and external projects related to business process improvement, against a predetermined project plan
  • Identify resources required and ensure the appropriate allocation of such resources
  • Assist with the scoping of projects and the identification of cause-and-effect relationships to ensure that the necessary steps are established to mitigate risk
  • Ensure that the required change management processes are followed, and initiatives are implemented in line with NTT standards and methodology.
  • Ensure that both internal and external stakeholder expectations are effectively managed through regular communication and accurate reporting as required.

Academic qualifications and certifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or similar
  • Relevant certification i.e Lean/Six Sigma Certification,
Experience required:
  • Relevant working experience in similar position
  • Relevant experience in a related environment
  • Strong experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven experience working with workflow and process control software
  • Experience conducting process modelling, gap analysis and requirements engineering with the delivery of appropriate artefacts to progress development and achieve business objectives
