eCommerce Photography Studio - Photographer ( 4 Month Maternity Cover)

Our eCommerce Photography Studio is looking for a dedicated and passionate Photographer to join our creative team. As a team, we operate at a fast pace & produce high quality content at scale in order to empower our teams to drive sales and brand awareness through multiple channels. This role will report to the eCommerce Studio Manager and the incumbent will be required to work in our in-house studio, based in Montague Gardens in Cape Town.

The primary focus of the role is to produce quality brand-right digital assets using StyleShoots content automation equipment as well as traditional photography methods. You will work hand-in hand with models, stylists, make-up artists, and other creative professionals to create compelling visual content that will be a key driver to promote business growth.

Key Duties
  • Photograph all product categories (clothing, footwear, accessories, gear & gadgets) across various brands.
  • Adjust lighting and camera angles to produce premium still life, on model and video content.
  • Review sets of photographs and select the best results according to agreed style guides & best practice.
  • Engage with talent/models to achieve the desired look and feel for each chain/brand.
  • Collaborate with team members to create & execute ideas that take our brands to the next level.
  • Actively engage in the creative process for both post-production and live-production needs; work with all parties to achieve defined goals.
  • Coordinate & communicate with internal & external stakeholders as needed to ensure that production runs smoothly according to the planned schedule.
  • Foster positive workplace relationships and drive cross-functional cohesion and teamwork, both within the Photography Studio team as well as with other teams in the business.
Job Requirements
  • Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position (studio or fashion setting preferred)
    • Matric and related tertiary education preferred
    • Good knowledge of digital cameras and maintenance, manual camera controls and creative photography techniques (including lighting & production equipment setup)
    • Experience with StyleShoots systems preferred Live (on model photos & video), Vertical (hollow mannequin photography) and Eclipse (still product photos & video)
    • Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge & CaptureOne
    • A good knowledge of digital workflow from camera to post-production
    • Good working knowledge of relevant workflow management & monitoring systems (eg. JIRA or Monday.com)
    • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to resolve a variety of issues & queries
    • Portfolio that demonstrates a good level of ability in product & commercial photography.
