Carpenter / Crater

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Trade Certificate
• Grade 12 / National Certificate NQF Level 4
• Semi-skilled and/or 8 years' experience
• Able to read drawings
• Able to use wood stapler and other fastening tools

Responsibilities

• Construct & assemble crates and pallets
• Finish and repair wooden crates/pallets
• Cut joints using wood cutting machines or hand powered tools
• Assemble prepared wood to form structures
• Maintain and sharpen tools
• Remove or repair damaged components
• Assist with on-the-job-training
• Crating/pallet manufacturing
• Give instructions to Craters
