Job description
Position: Case Management CoordinatorPrimary Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the hospital case management process and facilitating effective communication between all relevant stakeholders. This role aims to ensure the provision of accurate, timely clinical information to minimise financial risk to the organisation.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Effectively manage patient stays to minimise financial risk to the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with case management procedures, contractual agreements, and relevant legal requirements through the appropriate use of available systems and resources.
- Ensure the accurate and timeous finalisation of cases to facilitate reimbursement of claims from medical funders.
- Maintain consistent and timely communication with funders, in accordance with contractual agreements and through approved case management channels.
- Ensure adherence to clinical coding standards in line with Level 3 coding guidelines.
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Proven experience in authorisation and motivation processes relating to level of care, length of stay, short payments, and related case management matters.
- Sound knowledge of patient administration policies and procedures, including patient confidentiality and the management of external case manager visits.
- Strong understanding of daily hospital workflows, deviation management, clinical coding, and case management processes.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and administrative skills.
