Chief Mine Planner

A great mining company in Gauteng is seeking the expertise of a Chief Mine Planner to join their team.

Essential Requirements

Grade 12
Degree in Engineering / Mining
5 - 7 years experience in mine planning across surface and underground mines
Planning software such as Minex or Micromine

Duties And Responsibilities

Validate ore reserve estimates with geological team and review geological data to ensure accuracy.
Review long-term planning and scheduling and recommend optimal operatonal strategies.
Develop mine plans to maximize productivity and safety and minimize costs for existing and proposed operations.
Monitor grade control drill holes for accuracy and consistency.
Utilize geotechnical and geological requirements to plan for underground plan activities.
Generate 3D mine plans to ensure adequate access and ventilation to mining areas.
Oversee the preparation of mining infrastructure, such as tunnels, access roads and foundation works
