What You'll Do
As a Client Relationship Manager based in Johannesburg, you will be instrumental in nurturing key partnerships across Southern Africas financial sector.
- Establish, foster, and manage business relationships with existing and potential financial institutions throughout Southern Africa in close cooperation with senior colleagues and international teams.
- Process client requests and queries efficiently, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining high standards of client satisfaction.
- Support the Know-Your-Customer (KYC) process by collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist the Senior Representative in overseeing office operations and business activities for the Johannesburg representative office.
- Build and maintain strong connections with clients, local stakeholders, and partners to promote long-term engagement and trust.
- Manage the entire client life cycle within defined frameworks, ensuring all aspects of onboarding, maintenance, and offboarding are handled professionally.
- Conduct market research and analyse market trends to identify new business opportunities that align with regional strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive business reports, presentations, and handle various administrative tasks to support decision-making processes.
- Provide input for regional strategy development and implementation by sharing insights gained from market analysis and client interactions.
- Organise meetings, negotiations, or events as required, representing the office professionally at all times.
To excel as a Client Relationship Manager in Johannesburg, your background should reflect substantial experience within financial services working with financial institutions.
- A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, , Economics, Finance or a related field is required; additional qualifications such as an MBA, CFA or CA (SA) would be advantageous.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within investment banking, cash or trade services or business development is essential for success.
- Demonstrated experience working within African marketspreferably Southern Africaand understanding local regulations and business culture is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in multinational environments with insight into how large organisations are managed.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships, conducting negotiations, and building enduring client connections is crucial.
- Exceptional communication skills combined with strong interpersonal abilities enable you to engage confidently with diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite along with other relevant business tools is expected for this role.
