About The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Business Analyst to join our team in Cape Town.
The ideal candidate will play a key supporting role in growing and driving Cambridge University Press and Assessment's Sub-Saharan Africa business performance by delivering
- Data-led actionable insights;
- Improved reporting;
- Supporting strategic initiatives, and
- Optimizing commercial decision-making.

About You
As our next Commercial Business Analyst, you'll bring deep expertise in financial systems and a proven ability to deliver high-quality insights and reporting across multiple data sources. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, combining precision with strategic thinking to drive business performance and support key decision-making.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- At least 3 years of experience in a commercial, financial, or business analyst role with a strong focus on financial systems
- Strong knowledge of ERP platforms, accounting software, and financial reporting tools
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems such as Bookmaster, SAP, or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of IFRS, with experience in SQL or other data querying languages advantageous
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and analytical problem-solving capabilities
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders
