- A relevant degree or diploma in governance, law, business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of one (1) year of company secretariat experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the public sector
- Assist in ensuring the organisation's adherence to relevant legislation, including the Companies Act, King IV, and public sector regulations.
- Support the preparation and filing of statutory documents with regulatory bodies such as the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
- Maintain statutory registers and minute books, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate logistics for board and subcommittee meetings, including scheduling and distribution of meeting agendas and materials.
- Record and prepare minutes of meetings, ensuring timely circulation and follow-up on action items.
- Support the development and maintenance of board charters and terms of reference.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Company Secretary and senior governance staff.
- Manage the organisation's governance documentation and ensure secure storage and easy retrieval.
- Assist in the induction and orientation of new board members, providing necessary training on governance practices.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of board decisions and resolutions.
- Assist in the preparation of annual reports and other governance-related documents.
- Ensure that all governance documentation is up to date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between the board, management, and external stakeholders on governance matters.
- Assist in communicating governance policies and procedures to the organisation.
- Support the organisation in responding to governance-related inquiries from stakeholders.
