We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance and Legal Advisor on a fixed-term contract. Do you have what it takes to be our next Purple Star?
The Compliance and Legal Advisor will be responsible for providing support to the CFO and Commercial and Finance Executive on the effective legal and compliance oversight and management of the Hollywood Holdings Group, its Managed Entities, the Winning Form Group, and related groups (e.g. IP Group, BGT Group, etc).

You Bring
- Commercial experience in drafting legal agreements.
- Legal Degree.
- Computer Literate.
- Commercial experience within a legal team.
- Valid Drivers license.
- Take oversight of and assume responsibility for relevant legal documentation across all Groups.
- Review and advise on key risk areas within relevant legal documents, including, but not limited to supplier credit applications, marketing and promotional contracts, leases, TUV agreements, software supplier agreements, and internal agreements.
- Stay abreast of legislative developments affecting the business (e.g., POPIA, FICA, AML), and communicate the impact to relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with the implementation and ongoing management of the contract management system.
- Assist with the implementation of POPI across all Groups, including reporting and participation in various committee meetings.
- Provide legal support in disputes involving Gambling Boards, where applicable.
- Support the CFO and the Commercial and Finance Executives with projects and reports as required.
- Assist and support the Compliance and Legal Officers, as well as the Compliance Manager, with all Gambling Board-related matters, including:
- Monitoring compliance with provincial licence conditions.
- Compiling and submitting essential reports to respective Gambling Boards within required timeframes.
- Preparing applications to regulatory authorities for new bookmaker licences, relocations, and financial acquisitions.
- Preparing applications to KZN Treasury for lottery operations.
- Managing applications for annual renewals with relevant Gambling Boards.
- Submitting applications to amend floor plans to Gambling Boards.
- Investigating allegations of non-compliance and responding appropriately to regulatory authorities.
- Facilitating applications for new site operator licences, municipal licences, and liquor licences, as well as ensuring timely renewals.
- Liaising with regulatory bodies on licensing, compliance, legislation, and regulations.
- Coordinating and facilitating Gambling Board audits, responding to audit queries, and preparing responses to findings.
- Negotiating, monitoring, and renewing lease agreements.
- Good communication and Interpersonal skills.
- Impressive planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Good business acumen and high ethical work standards.
- Ability to take accountability and entail great problem - solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and still produce good quality results timeously.
- Portray strong attention to detail, whilst maintaining efficiency.
