Construction manager

The Construction Department oversees all wind farm projects from start to completion. The team takes responsibility for a wind farm once a contract has been signed and remains responsible until the final tests are completed. Working closely with the sales, legal, logistics, procurement and finance departments, the construction team must keep the project on budget, on schedule and to ensure our safety and quality standards are met.

Reporting to the Head of Project Management the main responsibilities are:
  • Work creatively and demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and quality
  • Manage the day-to-day project site activities, subcontractors and teams
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
  • Extensive understanding of construction management principles, methods and techniques
Qualifications
  • Accredited Engineering Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical /Construction management Qualification
  • Project management qualification and Professional registration with SACPCMP is mandatory
  • Minimum of 5 years construction management experience in large scale projects. Wind Power plants will be an asset
  • Good communication skills
  • Extended knowledge with construction management (control and monitoring) tools, MS Office, etc.
  • Expert in construction, labour, environmental & safety requirements, and legislation
  • Fluent in English
