The Consultant: Database Administrator (DBA):
- Assists in ensuring the performance, availability, and security of Altron Security Databases.
- Supports the team with implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of Altron Securitys corporate applications.
- Assists the Team in developing and sustaining the SQL Server Warehouse, ensuring its operational readiness (security, health and performance), contributing to the execution of data loads, and performing data modelling in support of multiple development teams.
- Provides support in optimizing SQL queries and performs backups and audits under supervision to ensure that SQL databases remain accessible, secure, and stable.
Required Tasks: Were looking for someone to support and maintain MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases, assist with ETL processes (SSIS), reporting (SSRS), and database optimization, and help ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and security. Youll collaborate with development teams, assist with upgrades and migrations, and provide after-hours support when needed. Requirements: IT Related Degree/Diploma will be advantageous
Minimum 1 - 2 years MS SQL Server Administration experience.
Certification in SQL DBA, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Some experience or coursework in SQL Database Administration.
Basic knowledge of MSSQL and PostgreSQL.
Understand High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
Familiar with SSIS and SSRS.
Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory
Experience with virtualization and containerization would be beneficial.
