Visual Editor & Content Manager

Wilderness is looking for a senior, highly organised and self-motivated Visual Editor and Content Manager to join their ever-growing creative team.

As the company is embarking on an ambitious journey to capture fresh and consistent content, you will be responsible for leading the visual content strategy, production and the distribution needed to support marketing initiatives across the business.

You will be overseeing a comprehensive content management transformation project where thorough strategy, planning and categorisation around taxonomy and curation will be the key to success.

The Visual Editor and Content Manager will play a key role in building the future for the Wilderness brand in creating content that emotionally connects with our guests and partners and showcases the Wilderness offering to an international and award-winning standard.

Youll be working closely with the Head of Brand & Content and Head of Creative as well as our Chief Marketing Officer to identify business needs and content requirements and will be managing an in-house Content producer & coordinator to successfully deliver outputs against objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the content management system transformation; including the set-up of our new DAM system, define taxonomy and categorisation of tags as well as the curation and transfer of existing assets.
  • Oversee all visual content creation (stills and video) and execution including;
    • Production Planning (gap analysis and identify content requirements)
    • Vet, build relationships and brief content producers and talent ahead of each shoot.
    • Creation of shot-lists and pre-production documents.
    • Managing budgets and timelines
  • Edit and curate content that adheres to our new art-direction as well ensures international, world-class standards; define a standard process on how the brand comes across in visual assets.
  • Lead, train and coach direct reports and the delegation of work, roles and responsibilities.
  • Optimise distribution and usage of visual content across the various marketing activities to drive user engagement, influence customer decisions and showcase our offering in the right way. This includes;
    • Light-touch editing and formatting of specific visual assets for marketing needs.
    • Ensuring the creative team (designers and copywriters) and the digital team (social, website) is using optimised and thought-through assets.
    • Ensure third party-platforms (itrvl, Wetu etc) are up to date with latest footage and assets.
  • Work with our post-production agency to brief in new editing needs, review outputs and ensure the right message is coming across for our marketing needs.
  • Together with the Head of Creative and Head of Brand & Content, identify new content trends and technologies and keep our content strategy updated to reflect this.
  • Proactively identify and plan for future content needs and keep an eye on the ever-evolving trends of the photography/video landscape.
Requirements:
  • Experience in managing DAM solutions and content transformation projects.
  • A deep understanding of the evolving spectrum of content types (videos, static, 360) that is consumed, preferred and ultimately drives decision-making amongst consumers.
  • Ability to do light touch editing of both moving and still assets (basic grading, file-size and formatting, length of clip and light retouching).
  • Experience in creating briefs and shot-lists that answers objectives and business needs.
  • A deep understanding of production and experience in running photo and video shoots.
  • A strong organisational approach to planning to ensure timelines, budget and categorisation of content is met.
  • A strong attention to detail and creative understanding of what makes a good video or photography to ensure quality control of end-outputs and adherence to consistency and brand guidelines.
Candidate profile

Experience & Qualification
  • A university degree in marketing or photography.
  • 5+ years experience in either content production, art-direction or marketing.
  • A strong photographic background having worked with content producers and art-directors.
  • Proficiency in the Adobe suite and working in Lightroom and Photoshop
  • Excellence in working in Microsoft Excel with spreadsheets and management thereof
  • Experience in the luxury sector and ideally exposure to the luxury hospitality sector.
  • Exposure to multiple photography and editing softwares and tools; constantly looking to improve processes and ways of working.
