Summary

Hours vary per day/176 days per year/Grade 3 $16.92 per hour (2025-2026 Support Salary Table) [Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase] JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Nutrition Services manager, the cook/cashier prepares, serves and cleans up after meals and performs cashier or clerk responsibilities. Nutrition Services has openings at the following schools in the district. (Shifts vary from 3-3.9 hours per day) - Adelaide Elementary - Bountiful Jr High - Centennial Jr High - Clearfield High - Doxey Elementary - Farmington High - Island View Elementary - Millcreek Jr High - South Weber k-2 - Syracuse Jr High - Viewmont High - West Point Jr High - Whitesides Elementary - Woods Cross High ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Prepares broad variety of foods. Weighs, cooks and portions.
  • Prepare vegetables (weighs, cleans, peels, cooks).
  • Sets up serving line, serves food and Keeps line stocked by distributing food to appropriate station.
  • Reports plate count figure
  • Records food temperatures.
  • Portions out condiments
  • Cleans up the line during, between, and after meals. Cleans and sanitizes dishes at the end of the day. Sweep and mop the kitchen.
  • May help record and maintain inventory.
  • Cashiering: Takes point of service count for lunch.
  • Reconciles point of service count with plate count. Sets up computers (turns on and updates) in preparation for meals. Receives pre-paid money, enters totals into computer; maintains cash drawer.
  • Maintains proper personal hygiene and cleanliness by washing hands and wearing and changing gloves. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma.
  • Three (3) to six (6) months of experience preferred.
  • Food handler's permit required (Before first day of work)
  • Regular, on-site attendance is required to effectively collaborate, support staff/students, and maintain continuity of operations.
  • This position requires completion of all training requirements within the first 90 days. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting this requirement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to read and write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of cooking/food preparation procedures.
  • Ability to communicate with staff and students.
  • Ability to use small office equipment and computers.
  • Ability to accept, receive and collect payment.
  • Ability to maintain inventory and property. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Medium work:
  • Must be able to be on your feet for four consecutive hours.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Exert up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
