Responsibilities

What were looking for:
  • Monitoring, governance and management of inventory valuations to ensure accurate accounting of material price and usage variances generated by the manufacturing process
  • Analysis of production orders, working closely with Site Operations teams to ensure appropriate controls are being consistently applied and corrective actions executed to manage the variances generated by moving average costing of SAP material ledger
  • Day-to-Day oversight of inventory production orders, cost collector, consumptions and stock valuations
  • Daily monitoring of production waste at product and line level for real time waste reporting
  • Monitoring and governance of process orders
    • Ensure timely closure of orders following production runs
    • Execute timely settlement of orders to trigger stock valuation process
    • Execute distribution and allocation of variances
  • Variance analysis and cost collector management
    • Analysis allocation of variances at process order and product level to ensure accuracy of settlement process
    • Provide insights on significant/abnormal variances and ensure corrective actions are executed to minimize P&L impact
  • Monitoring of material consumptions and usages
    • Regular monitoring of COGI report to ensure timeous backflushing of materials to ensure accurate Cost of Goods Sold and correct inventory levels
    • Follow up with Site Operation teams and drive actions to clear aged COGI items
  • Oversee inventory management process at Site to ensure accuract of stock quantities
    • Follow up on approvals per SOA to ensure that write offs are reviewed and mitigating actions in place
    • Ensure timely processing of write offs, reconciling to approval notes
    • Assist in finalizing stock count (checklist sign off and variance analysis)
    • Work closely with Controls team on stock at risk and aged stock provisions, ensuring accurate postings in line with Inventory policy
  • Daily Waste reporting
    • Monitoring and reporting of production waste at product and line level, sharing findings with Shift Leads
    • Review waste at Bill-of-Material level with Site Operations team to identify potential opportunities for waste reduction and productivity
    • Support Technical Services team in data gathering for real time waste reporting
    • Alert plant management of critical overspend areas
  • Bill-of-Material management
    • Continuous monitoring of actual consumption vs standard BOMs, analysing deviations
    • Ensure adherence to consumption of quantities per the Bill-of-Material and closely monitor production alternatives to align to R&D recipes
  • Management of inventory purchase orders
    • Ensuring timely receipting of raw and packaging material purchase orders, closely monitoring adherence to GP contract prices
    • Execute Open Purchase Order reporting on a daily basis and creating visibility of outstanding invoices
Qualifications

What will qualify you for the role:
  • Minimum of 2 years Finance Management experience. FMCG experience advantageous
  • B Comm. - or equivalent, with accounting as one of the majors, Cost Accounting preferred
  • Directing and managing day-to-day activities to compile weekly and monthly results timeously
  • Ability to analysis large amounts of data and be able to develop trends and insights
  • SAP experience critical
  • Computer literate
  • Advanced Excel, experience navigating FI and P2P ERP modules
