Country Manager

An exciting opportunit exists for a Country Manager to join the Mukuru Team!

This role will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy, driving growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Duties And Responsibilities (Include But Is Not Limited To)
  • Develop and implement the country-level business strategy in line with the overall business strategy
  • Drive business growth through the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of existing relationships
  • Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets to drive growth
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and initiatives that are aligned with the company's strategy
  • Manage the financial performance of the country business
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective go-to-market strategies
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase customer retention and loyalty
  • Identify and pursue new sales channels and partnerships to drive growth
  • Lead and manage the sales team within the country
  • Drive the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Ensure the sales team is trained on the companys products and services, and the sales process
  • Manage the financial performance of the country business, including revenue, expenses, and profitability
  • Forecast sales and revenue and ensure accurate reporting and analysis of sales data
  • Lead and manage the sales team within the country
  • Ensure sales processes and systems comply with company policies and local regulations
  • Develop and implement sales processes, systems, and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Forecast sales and revenue and ensure accurate reporting and analysis of sales data
  • Drive the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Ensure the sales team is trained on the companys products and services, and the sales process
  • Manage and resolve any sales-related disputes or challenges
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and industry bodies
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts and relationships within the financial services/fintech industry
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key suppliers and service providers
  • Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts and partners to drive growth
  • Attend industry events and conferences to maintain a strong presence in the market and build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry influencers and thought leaders
  • Ensure the effective management of the company's reputation
  • Lead negotiations with key customers and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Partnering with the Customer Experience and BI team to gather data on the target market, industry trends, and competitive landscape
  • Assess industry by reviewing the current and future state of the industry, including technological advancements, regulatory changes, and economic conditions
  • Develop a good understanding of the competitive landscape including their market share and pricing strategies
  • Evaluate the potential for success of a business concept based on the market analysis, including assessing the potential for growth, profitability, and scalability
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities
  • Create detailed and comprehensive reports on sales performance, including trends, forecasting, and data analysis
  • Provide regular reporting on the performance of the country business
  • Participate in regular meetings with the executive team to discuss sales performance and provide updates on progress towards sales targets and strategy
  • Analyse sales data to identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to the executive team
  • Ensure the implementation of best practices and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the sales team, promoting best practices and encouraging innovation
  • Stay up to date with the latest sales technology and tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ensure the effective use of technology to support the business and improve operational efficiency
  • Develop and implement sales processes, systems, and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Manage the implementation of projects and initiatives that support the country business strategy
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the South African market and stay up to date with industry trends and developments
  • Collaborate with the product development team to gather customer feedback and help drive product improvements
  • Manage the budget and resources of the country business to ensure financial performance Manage the sales budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources
  • Preparing a comprehensive budget that includes all the resources required to achieve the objectives of the organization or project
  • Monitoring and tracking actual expenditures against the budget and making adjustments as necessary to ensure that resources are used efficiently and effectively
  • Forecasting and anticipating future resource needs based on current trends and past experience and making adjustments to the budget as necessary to ensure that the business its objectives
  • Compiling regular reports on the budget and resource management, including status updates, progress reports, and financial statements
  • Controlling costs to ensure that the organization operates within its budget and does not overspend.
  • Continuously reviewing and improving processes and systems to ensure that budget and resource management is effective and efficient
  • Ensure the country business is aligned with the overall company culture and values
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the country business
  • Build and maintain a high-performing team through effective leadership, coaching, and development
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork within the country business
  • Ensure the effective management of HR-related issues, including employee relations and performance management
  • Support the development and implementation of company-wide people focused initiatives and programs
Key Requirements
  • Masters of Business Administration (Desirable)
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
  • B-Degree in Commerce or Business Management
  • RE 5 and RE 1 (Desirable)
  • 10+ Sales Experience (Essential)
  • 5+ years People Management Experience
  • 5+ years Financial Services Industry Experience
  • Previous Money transfer/ remittance experience (advantageous)
  • Fintech, Insurance, Sales and Marketing Experience (Advantageous)
