- Adherence to safe work practices and good housekeeping.
- Carry out the grinding of rolls for CRM and SPM and adhere to the grinding procedures within correct tolerances of dimensions.
- Monitor the operation of the grinding machinery.
- Check and ensure quality of rolls relating to surface finish, hardness, Ultrasonic Tester (UT) and the dimensions.
- Ensure correct balancing of grinding wheels prior to operating the roll grinder machine.
- Ensure good condition of the measuring instruments, UT and hardness tester.
- Reporting of operating parameters.
- Ensuring of training to all roll grinders with regards to SOP
- Ensure SOP for roll grinding is up dated and roll grinders is trained on SOP
- Ensure Skin pass rolls are grinded properly within tolerance and blasting quality is done properly.
- Ensure both roll grinding machines is in good working order and maintenance is done as required on a shutdown schedule.
Education/Qualification & Experience
- Minimum academic qualification: Matric (Maths & Science)/National Diploma in Engineering/Relevant Technical Qualification
- General work experience (years): 5 Years
