Job Overview
The Accountant supports the Financial Controller in maintaining accurate and compliant financial records, overseeing key accounting processes, and providing reliable financial information to support decision-making. The role plays a central part in ensuring the integrity of financial data through journal preparation, reconciliations, reporting, and support for budgeting and audit processes. Acting as the bridge between transactional finance and financial management, the Accountant ensures CVs financial operations remain efficient, compliant, and aligned with global standards.
Specific Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger, preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, and prepayments to ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closes.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, including variance analyses and commentary for the Financial Controller.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, intercompany accounts, and control accounts, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective action.
- Support the Financial Controller in producing statutory accounts and coordinating external audits, ensuring documentation and schedules are prepared in advance.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts, providing financial insights and data analysis.
- Manage fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules, and related accounting entries.
- Support treasury and cashflow management activities, including payment runs, fund transfers, and bank reconciliations in alignment with CV's global standards.
- Ensure compliance with taxation and other relevant regulatory reporting requirements.
- Assist with ERP (NetSuite) development, ensuring data integrity and supporting process improvements.
- Collaborate with regional and global finance teams to ensure reporting consistency and adherence to CVs global standards.
- Contribute to the development of financial policies, procedures, and control enhancements.
- Provide cover and mentoring support to Finance Assistants when required.
- As part of a global organisation, you will be required to collaborate across time zones, which may involve out-of-hours availability from time to time.

- A qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, ideally in an international or multi-entity environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including double-entry bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and advanced Excel or BI tools.
- Familiarity with VAT, charity accounting standards, and multi-currency transactions (desirable).
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the charitable, mission, or faith-based sector (desirable).
