Junior Engineer

Ventilation • Regularly inspect and test workplaces to ensure: adequate ventilation flows, atmospheric contaminants are as low as can be reasonably achieved • At intervals not exceeding 3 months: determine and record the quantity and quality of ventilating air in the mine using correct procedures, instruments and equipment, record primary fan pressure and volume, update mine ventilation plans which need to be immediately available to emergency response • Operate, calibrate and maintain instrumentation • Record the wet and dry bulb temperatures of all workplaces where conditions could adversely affect the safety and health of persons • Select and position auxiliary fans, regulators and other controls, ensuring the required volumes of air are provided in workplaces • Enter, date and sign records in the ventilation log book Truckless Mobile Machines (TMMs) • Supervise Maintenance • Analyze and propose enhancements or adjustments with the machines • Setting up work control systems. • Communicate with OEM (Cat, Sandvik and etc) for the needed spares and equipment, and responsible in watching over safety standards to ensure all materials, supplies and equipment will pass quality control. • Evaluate installed digging machineries and monitor mining processes Management • Negotiating variations and remedial works. • Lead team to ensure projects are completed on time and meet high quality standards. • Writing reports, attending meetings, exchanging information with other professionals. • Work cooperatively with other departments, such as HR Department, Rock Mechanics Department, Survey Department and etc to optimize production and solve problems. • Record and store information in compliance with Legislation, regulations and company policies. • Measuring work done • Supervise contractors. • Reporting directly to the Sinior Engineer. Underground • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities • Responsible for all mechanical maintenance function for all underground mining equipment (Dump Trucks, Drill Rigs, UVs and etc). • Ensure adherence to the company Health and Safety standards. • Implement safe work standards and procedures • Underground water reticulation • Design work for material handlings including crushing and conveying • Providing clear guidance on risk mitigation measures. Hydraulics Equipment • Pumps o Repairing and maintaining underground water pumps o Ensuring a smooth run of pumps by changing mechanical seals if damaged. o Changing bent shaft o Ensuring correct direction of rotation o Checking misalignments on couplings o Changing worn bearings and ensuring proper lubrication or bearings o Checking blockage in suction hoses and etc • Cylinders o Repairing and maintaining hydraulic cylinders for Drill Rigs machines. o Ensuring proper fitting of mechanical seals o Check for corrosion or marks on the cylinder seals grooves o Minimize chances of oil contamination o Changing damaged or bent piston rods. o Ensuring that in operation of cylinder there is no side loading o Changing or cutting off leaking hoses o Ensuring proper hose clamp and etc
