We are looking to employ Data Warehouse DevOps Specialist who will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting database structures and scripts and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance.

Candidates will be working in a very dynamic DevOps team on a global information platform and will be expected to work with global and regional BI teams to assist with developing BI and Data Management solutions and establishing best practices. A large part of the role will also focus on developing data acquisition solutions across a wide range of source systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimise SQL tables, views, procedures, and query statements
  • Develop ETL solutions, which will include Azure Data Factory, SAP Hana SDI/SDA, SAP Data Services, Log Reader Replications, ESB technologies, and bespoke API solutions
  • Develop and maintain optimal SQL Indexing strategies
  • Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases and associated services
  • Handle common database procedures like upgrades, backups, recovery, migration, etc.
  • Profile server resource usage, and optimise and tweak as necessary
  • Create, manage and optimise SQL server jobs, Data Factory / Synapse triggers
  • Evaluate new technologies and be able to build Proofs of Concepts
  • Prepare design specifications, and detailed solution documentation
  • Collaborate with other team members and business stakeholders
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies like feature/story development, backlog grooming, and daily scrums
What will make you a good fit for the role?

Skills & Qualifications
  • IT Degree/Diplomas/Certifications must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of working with servers, networks, computer resources, etc.
  • Certified on SQL Server 2016 or later (2016 preferred)
  • Certified on SAP Hana 2.0 or later (SP04+ preferred) - advantageous.
  • Certified as Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience on Microsoft SQL Server technology stack (SQL, SSIS, Analysis Services, On-premise gateways, Power BI)
  • At least 1-2 years experience on Azure technology stack (Synapse / SQL DW, Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2)
  • At least 1-2 years experience on SAP Hana technology stack (SQL, XSC/XSA, SDA / SDI, DP Agents, SAP Data Services)
  • Skilled at optimising large complicated SQL statements
  • In depth understanding of SQL Indexing and profiling capabilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of data modelling best practices
  • Deep knowledge of SQL Server and/or Hana security architecture
  • Knowledge of best practices when dealing with relational and column store database technologies Capable of troubleshooting common database issues
  • Proficient understanding of Visual Studio, SQL Management Studio, SAP Hana Studio & Web IDE, and versioning solutions like Team Foundation Services, GitHub, etc.
  • Experience with developing ETL solutions
  • Experience with ESB/Queueing technologies like RabbitMQ
  • Experience with Web Service integration components like SOAP, JSON, XML, etc.
  • Experience with Log Reader replications like SQL Server Transactional Replication or SAP Smart Data Integration
  • Experience with programming languages like C# .Net, VB .Net, ASP.Net, Python
