Data Scientist II - Pricing

Job Description

This role is withinWesBank Retailandsupports the purpose by providing customer centric pricing for credit risk inherent in the WesBank portfolio and thus ensuring sustainable returns for our shareholders. This role lies in a dynamic environment where the successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Credit, IT, Finance and FRM. Moreover, the successful candidate will also be required to be in the forefront and take ownership in the execution of pricing related IT initiatives.

Are You Someone Who

• Have hands-on experience building and deploying models for predictive analytics, such as customer behavior, risk scoring, or price elasticity
• Enjoys data analytics within Pricing, Credit and Financial Resource Management (FRM)
• Have knowledge of/or experience in pricing or profitability modelling of a credit product or portfolio
• Has relevant experience with Model monitoring, optimisation and/or deployment
• Competent with Visualization tools such as Tableau / PowerBI
• Intermediate to advanced coding skills in SQL & SAS is essential
• An Intermediate level of proficiency to code in Python / R would be beneficial.
• Prior experience with technical documentation and process mapping will be advantageous.

Minimum Qualification and Exprience requied for the role

• B Degree in Mathematical Sciences, Statistics, Actuarial Science and Engerineering
• Honours Degree
• Experience: 3 - 5 years' relevant data science experience within a Credit Risk or Lending capability environment
