About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in a hybrid role based in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Natural/ADABAS, Entire-X, and Natural ONE (Eclipse), along with an IT-related degree.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain ADABAS databases to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Administer and support Natural/ADABAS environments, including upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting.
- Utilize Entire-X to facilitate seamless integration between applications.
- Work with Natural ONE (Eclipse) for development, debugging, and optimization of database applications.
- Ensure database security, backup, and recovery procedures are in place and maintained.
- Optimize database performance and resolve issues proactively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
- Document database architectures, processes, and procedures.
- IT-related degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar).
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
- Expertise in Natural/ADABAS.
- Strong experience with Entire-X middleware.
- Proficiency in Natural ONE (Eclipse-based IDE).
- Solid understanding of database performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience in database security, backup, and recovery.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
