What Youll Do
- Write and Optimize Queries: Develop, test, and debug T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views to support gaming platforms and VAS applications.
- Support Database Design: Assist in designing and maintaining database schemas and objects under the guidance of the Senior Database Developer.
- Ensure Data Integrity: Help maintain data quality, security, and performance across all database systems.
- Perform Database Tasks: Conduct basic administration tasks, such as monitoring performance, managing user access, and executing backups/restores with supervision.
- Troubleshoot Issues: Resolve database performance issues and user-reported data problems efficiently.
- Build Reports and Dashboards: Support the creation of internal reports and interactive dashboards using Power BI.
- Assist in Data Migration: Contribute to data migration and integration tasks, particularly with Azure SQL and other cloud platforms.
- Document Processes: Create and maintain clear documentation for database processes, code, and architectural diagrams.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand and meet data requirements.
- Education: Bachelors degree or National Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience: 2 years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts (RDBMS) and T-SQL programming (e.g., SELECT statements, joins, inserts, updates, deletes).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and a strong desire to learn and grow in the data and analytics field.
- T-SQL Programming: Proficiency in writing, testing, and debugging T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views for Microsoft SQL Server.
- Relational Database Concepts (RDBMS): Strong understanding of database structures, normalization, indexing, and data modeling.
- Microsoft SQL Server: Hands-on experience with SQL Server for querying, schema design, and basic administration tasks.
- Problem-Solving and Debugging: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues and data-related problems.
- Data Quality and Integrity: Knowledge of ensuring data accuracy, security, and consistency in database systems.
Nice-to-Have Technical Skills
- Microsoft Azure Data Services: Familiarity with Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Synapse Analytics for cloud-based data solutions.
- Power BI: Experience creating reports, datasets, and interactive dashboards for business intelligence.
- ETL Processes: Knowledge of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) concepts and tools like SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
