POST TITLE: TRAINEE INTERNAL AUDITOR
PEROMNES POST LEVEL: 12 (THREE-YEAR CONTRACT)

Responsibilities
The Trainee Internal Auditor (three years contract appointment) is responsible for the following:
- Executing, as part of an audit team and under direction and supervision of relevant senior staff, internal audits within the University in terms of the Annual Internal Audit Plan as approved by the Audit, IT and Risk Committee of Council and reporting thereon;
- Executing, as part of an audit team and under direction and supervision of relevant senior staff, special investigations requested by Senior Management, Executive Management and the Audit, IT and Risk Committee and reporting thereon.
- Other duties, associated with the mandate and operational activities of the Department of Internal Audit and Compliance Services, as may be allocated by the relevant senior staff, including, but not limited to, administrative tasks.
- BCom (Hons) Internal Auditing (completed or to be completed by latest 31 December 2025).
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint;
- Ability and sophistication to liaise with various levels of management and members of staff, where appropriate;
- Ability to meet demanding targets within tight deadlines;
- Writing skills;
- Analytical and negotiation skills;
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
- Appropriate language and communication skills;
- Leadership skills.
- CIA qualification or other relevant professional qualifications (completed or in progress);
- Relevant experience in higher education environment or similar.
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbents level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
