Job Title DEPUTY FACULTY REGISTRAR.1.03 Location Johannesburg, ZA Organization Name E&BE - Faculty Registrar's Office Department Description Applications are invited from dynamic and self-motivated candidates to fill the above position within the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment. The Faculty brings together a group of disciplines that are represented in its seven schools. All schools offer programmes leading from undergraduate to postgraduate degrees and engage in service and teaching. The Deputy Registrar will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic administration, governance, and strategic objectives of the Faculty. The incumbent will ensure compliance with University policies, academic rules, and statutory requirements, while driving efficiencies in student lifecycle management, curriculum administration, and faculty governance processes. Brief Description
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all Faculty academic administration processes, including student registration, progression, graduation, and records management.
  • Support the Faculty Registrar in implementing academic policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Facilitate faculty committees and ensure proper record-keeping and decision tracking.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of student records and progression decisions.
  • Engage with university-wide initiatives to enhance academic systems and improve student services.
  • Foster collaboration between academic, administrative, and support units.
  • Provide advisory support on academic rules and progression matters to both staff and students.
  • Drive the digital transformation of academic administration processes within the Faculty.
Requirements

A bachelor's degree or equivalent

At least 5 years of relevant experience in academic administration, student records, or university governance, preferably within a higher education environment.

Proven understanding of university systems, policies, and academic rules.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Experience working with student information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft Campus Solutions).

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams.
