Key responsibilities:
- Design of products, tooling and jigging that are production ready and ensuring customer- defined product quality by using CAE.
- Creating Manufacturing Data Packs including equipment BOM and Works Instruction.
- Troubleshoot product, tooling and jigging problems and assist in the start-up and qualification of new moulds, fixtures, and jigs.
- Develop and define special processes.
- Process verification sampling.
- Assist in the coordination of pricing, estimating, scoping strategies for projects and in the development and preparation of technical specifications.
- Stay abreast of new developments in the international composites industry, its tooling and manufacturing best practices to help the company to compete on the world market with state-of-the-art tooling and manufacturing processes.
Requirements and key skills:
- Tertiary education: Related B.Eng. or B.Tech.
- Minimum 3-year relevant work experience preferable.
- Experience in at least one of the following essential:
- 3D-CAD design experience, ideally in Catia V5.
- 3-axis & 5-axis machining programming experience, ideally in Mastercam.
- Experience in creating Catia V5 Composite Plybooks advantageous.
- Broad manufacturing knowledge with regards to requirements covering design, certification, and production of aerospace products.
- Expertise in composite design and manufacturing processes preferable.
- Experience in operating in a multi-project environment with different customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work on a global level interfacing with diverse cultures.
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods, work in a dusty and noisy environment with exposure to raw materials and/or finished products.
- Willingness to travel locally and abroad on supplier and customer visits.
