Key Responsibilities
1.Distribution Planning:
- Develop and implement distribution plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production, warehousing, and transportation teams to align supply with demand.
- Optimize distribution routes and schedules to minimize costs and improve delivery times.
- Expedite orders and deliveries to meet customer requirements and prevent delays in the supply chain.
- Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve issues related to delays, shortages, or damaged goods.
- Track and manage expedited shipments and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Oversee the handling of operational events, including disruptions, emergencies, and unforeseen issues affecting
- distribution activities.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to minimize the impact of operational disruptions.
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders to ensure awareness and resolution of operational issues.
- Lead and manage a small team of controllers and expeditors, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Set team goals, monitor performance, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Analyse distribution data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery rates, transportation costs, and
- inventory levels.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Work closely with internal teams (e.g., production, sales, customer service) to ensure alignment on distribution and expediting activities.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with external partners, including carriers and suppliers.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in distribution planning, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Basic understanding of distribution planning, logistics, and expediting processes.
- Exposure to data analysis and reporting
- Basic knowledge of transportation management systems and supply chain optimization.
