An opportunity has arisen for our client in the manufacturing and packaging industry for a qualified Boilermaker/Welder.
Requirements
To be considered for this position applications must meet the following criteria:
Minimum Of 3 Years Industry Work Experience
Must have strength and coordination
N3 qualification in Boilermaking and Welding
Must have steel industry experience as a Boilermaker/Welder
Must be able to work independently
Must have experience in fabrication using radial, parallel, triangulation and cutting planes
Be a hardworking, dedicated individual who understands the importance of attention to detail
Be willing to go the extra mile and follow all guidance and instructions given
Be positive and enthusiastic
Be reliable and a meticulous timekeeper
Be able to work under pressure
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will report to the Properties Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for, amongst other duties:
Read and interpret drawings
Take and read measurements
Always follow specifications and instructions for maximum efficiency
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
Repair machinery
Plan layouts and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or machinery to be used
Set up components for welding
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
Report damages on machines and equipment
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Ensuring that machinery are effectively maintained, serviced and stored
Ensuring top quality products are produced
Practicing a high standard of housekeeping and safety
- Any other duties reasonably requested by your Manager
