Voltex (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Driver Code 14 for the Port Elizabeth branch. This incumbent will be reporting to the Branch Manager.

The purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient delivery and collection of materials to customers.

Your Areas Of Responsibility

Complete vehicle inspection sheet and ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy before embarking on a journey
Report any defects / accidents of the vehicle to the branch manager immediately
Determine whether the truck complies with weight and height limits on bridges and tunnels and compliance with rules and regulations for transporting materials
Navigate each destination on schedule to determine the most expedient trip
Load stock according to the log sheet together with the operations manager and ensure that stock correspond to the delivery note
Submit all relevant delivery administration and reports of each delivery for an accurate record of what has been completed
Obtain clients and customers signatures as an acknowledgment of having received the delivered goods
Effectively communicate with clients and customers to resolve complaints
Ensure that the delivery vehicle is always clean
Keep record and advise the operations manager when the vehicle is due for service
Report all delivery related problems to Operations Manager
Maintain compliance with all safety and security regulations

Qualifications We Are Looking For

Matric / Equivalent is a MUST
A valid Code 14 drivers licence is a MUST
A valid PDP / CD licence is a MUST
Hazchem certificate is a MUST
A valid passport is DESIREABLE
Proven work experience as a Truck Driver
Must be able to handle dangerous goods
Familiar with GPS technology devises, AVL units, etc.
Knowledge of warehouse processes
Knowledge of relative safety standards protective clothing
