Electronics Technician - Port Elizabeth

As a chemicals supplier to almost all industries, BASF will establish a standalone subsidiary dedicated to its Mobile Emissions Catalysts, Precious Met-als Trading, Recycling, and related Products and Services business.

The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metals Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF.

BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4, 000 employees.

What You Can Expect

The incumbent will be responsible for the fault finding and repairing of all plant related electrical equipment. Duties will include the following:

• Repairing of all electronic and electronic related equipment
• Repairing of scales, cables, computers, and all PLC's
• Fault finding, repairing, and programming electronic variable speed and Thyristor controlled drives
• Fault finding and repairs on all PLC's and related equipment
• Completing and documenting Weekly Planned Maintenance Schedules
• Projects: Assisting with new installations, improvements, and modifications
• Standing-in for fitter (basic mechanical skills needed)
• Perform any other related duties in the interest of BASF SA as instructed

What We Expect

• National Diploma (N6) in Electronics or equivalent qualification
• Trade Test - Electronics or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience
• Must have formal PLC training, preferably in Siemens
