Summary

Under the general direction of the director and coordinator, the elementary manager is responsible for the preparation and serving of meals at the elementary school. The incumbent plans menus, orders supplies, trains and supervises workers, maintains sanitation and safety standards, and keeps records.

Classified position is announced to all qualified applicants. Applications must be submitted no later than Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Locations: Adelaide and Morgan Elementary 6.5 hours per day/178 days per year/Salary Grade 8 $21.61 per hour (2025-2026 Support Salary Table) [Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase] GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the general direction of the director and coordinator, the elementary manager is responsible for the preparation and serving of meals at the elementary school. The incumbent completes production sheets, orders supplies, trains and supervises workers, maintains sanitation and safety standards, and keeps records. Educational Requirements: 1. Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical functions. 2. Training in health and nutrition. 3. Completion of manager training course. Knowledge & Ability: 1. Knowledge of health and nutrition and sanitation. 2. Knowledge of equipment used in the kitchen. 3. Management and time management skills. Must have strong interpersonal skills for managing staff and for coordinating with principals, students, etc. 4. Ability to organize and prioritize. 5. Basic computer skills. Job-Related Experience: Two years experience related to the above tasks, knowledges, skills and abilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licenses/Certification: 1. SNA Certification - State and National Level desirable. 2. Serve Safe certified. 3. Must comply with professional development requirements.
